Winter is upon us in some parts of the country, and diesel owners know what it’s like to have to deal with efficiency and running problems when the mercury drops below a certain point. AMSOIL’s Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver (DFC) was specially designed to improve cold-flow properties and efficiency in diesel engines. The formula combines the amazing anti-gelling properties of ACF (Cold Flow Improver) with the detergency of ADF (Diesel Concentrate) in one container.

Minimizes Soot

This formulation works to reduce incomplete combustion, which in turn reduces soot buildup in the crankcase. This means that you’ll experience less soot-related wear and will increase the viscosity of the engine oil. DFC also improves sealing and combustion because it cleans piston rings and fuel injectors.

Extends TBN and Reduces Wear on Cylinders

Acids from diesel combustion in modern engines are neutralized, which helps extend TBN and keeps your engine oil cleaner for longer, giving you better protection.

Improves Efficiency

AMSOIL’s Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver helps keep your engine’s piston crowns, rings, and injectors free from soot and well-lubricated. Dirty injectors are cleaned, which gives you up to 5% better fuel economy and increases horsepower to the way it was when new. You’ll experience better acceleration, savings on fuel purchases, and cleaner injectors over the life of your diesel engine if you continue to use DFC.

Formulated for ULSD Fuel

Many competitor’s claims are not accurate when it comes to ultra-low-sulfur diesel fuel. The reduced sulfur levels, extensive refining, and reduced lubricity of ULSD makes it tough for competitors’ formulations fail to stand up. AMSOIL’s Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver works to control wear in the fuel pump and fuel injectors without returning any sulfur into the diesel fuel. Any competitive claims that are done are most likely not applicable to modern ULSD fuel.

Offers Superior Cold-Weather Performance

The wax in diesel fuel starts to form crystals when the temperature gets colder outside. When these crystals form, we call it the cloud point, and these crystals will eventually starve the engine of fuel by blocking the fuel filter. This prevents the engine from starting properly. AMSOIL’s DFC reduces the pour-point temperature and lowers the cold filter-plugging point by up to 19°C or 34°F. Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver reduces your need to use #1 diesel fuel, offers better fuel delivery to your fuel injectors, and controls ice formation throughout the system with its jet-fuel-type de-icer.

Reduces Your Need for #1 Diesel Fuel

#1 diesel fuel is simple diesel fuel with kerosene added for cold-weather running. Serious disadvantages arise when you use #1 diesel fuel, such as reduced energy content, which translates to less hp, decreased fuel economy, reduced lubrication for the fuel distributor and fuel pump, and increased wear on the distributor and pump parts. When you use DFC, you can continue using #2 diesel fuel, which improves your fuel economy and maintains your engine’s peak function.

Recommendations

To treat 40 gallons of fuel, use one 16-oz bottle of Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver. Store the produce at temperatures above 0°F to prevent freezing. If AMSOIL’s Diesel Concentrate Plus Cold Flow Improver does freeze, you can thaw it and use it. Treat your fuel before it reaches its cloud point. Use DFC in home heating oil as well as kerosene heating systems and in all diesel-powered engines
